The Australian fintech announces a leadership transition as it builds on five years of expansion, profitability and the launch of its AI-powered credit analytics business.
SYDNEY, Australia, 30 October 2026: Beforepay Group Limited (ASX: B4P) has announced the appointment of Kasey Kaplan as its next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective 7 December 2026, as the Australian fintech prepares for its next phase of growth.
Kaplan, currently Deputy CEO, will succeed Jamie Twiss, who is stepping down after more than five years leading the company through its ASX listing, expansion into personal lending and transition to profitability.
The appointment marks a new chapter for Beforepay, which has grown from an Australian fintech startup into a profitable, ASX-listed financial services group, with an expanding consumer lending business and a growing presence in enterprise credit analytics through Carrington Labs.
Since joining Beforepay in September 2021, Kaplan has played a central role in that transformation, helping scale the company's lending operations, develop new products and distribution channels, and drive commercial growth and strategic partnerships. He has also been instrumental in establishing Carrington Labs, the Group's AI-powered credit analytics business, which helps financial institutions improve their lending performance through advanced credit-risk modelling.
With experience building and scaling businesses across fintech, payments, technology and insurance in both Australia and the United States, Kaplan brings a strong focus on innovation, technology and commercial execution to the role.
Incoming CEO Kasey Kaplan said he was looking forward to building on the company's strong foundations and pursuing its next stage of growth.
"I'm excited to be stepping into the CEO role, and looking forward to leading Beforepay Group as we deliver our strategy and head into the next phase of growth.
"It has been an honour working with Jamie as he leaves behind an impressive legacy and strong foundations; our technology, credit-risk management skills, talented people, and scaled customer base will enable us to continue to disrupt the financial-services landscape in the years ahead."
The leadership transition comes as Beforepay looks to build on the technology, customer relationships and credit-risk capabilities developed over recent years, with opportunities spanning its core consumer lending business, new lending products and distribution channels, and the continued development of Carrington Labs.
Outgoing CEO Jamie Twiss said the business was well positioned for the future and that Kaplan was the right person to lead its next chapter.
"It's been a privilege to lead Beforepay Group over the last five years, from our early days as a private company through the IPO, the march to profitability, the launch of our Personal Loan product, and the formation of Carrington Labs.
"This is the right time to hand the baton to Kasey for the next phase of our growth; he knows every aspect of the business intimately, and is ideally positioned to succeed."
Beforepay Group Chairman Brian Hartzer said Kaplan's appointment followed a comprehensive succession process overseen by the Board, which considered both internal and external candidates.
"Kasey is ideally suited by background, skills, and temperament to lead the Group into the future, and I'm delighted that he'll be stepping into the CEO role. I'd like to thank Jamie for everything he has built in his time as CEO, and we wish him all the best."
Twiss will continue to support Kaplan through the transition and subsequently in an advisory capacity.
Kaplan also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Stakk Limited (ASX: SKK). He holds an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a master's degree from Oakland University and a bachelor's degree from Albion College.
